On 6th May 2023, the Faculty of Science at the University of Kelaniya held a Students Orientation Programme for the BSc Honours in Sports Science Degree Programme for the 2021/2022 academic year. The event took place in the Board Room of the Faculty of Science at 9:00 AM and was coordinated by Sachini Ariyarathna, a Technical Officer from the Sports and Exercise Science Unit.

The orientation featured esteemed guests, including the Vice Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, the Dean of the Faculty of Science, and the Registrar. Other notable attendees included Professor Aruna Wanninayak, Unit Head of the Sports and Exercise Science Unit; Senior Student Counselor Professor MAYL Nadeesha; and Professor Ajith Dissanayaka, a member of the Sports Advisory Board. On 12th June 2023, the University of Kelaniya held a formal ceremony at the Vice Chancellor's Office to appoint Dr. Ruwani Fernando as the new Head of the Department of Finance. The event, organized by the Department of Finance and coordinated by Lecturer H.J.R. Buddhika, was attended by the Vice Chancellor and invited faculty members, students, and staff.

During the ceremony, Dr. Ruwani Fernando received the official appointment letter from the Vice Chancellor, marking the beginning of her leadership role within the Department of Finance. University of Kelaniya Hosts Guest Lecture on Financial Reporting with CBL’s General Manager of Finance 

On 2nd June 2023, the Department of Human Resource Management at the University of Kelaniya organized a guest lecture on "General Financial Reporting and Analysis" at the F4 Management Faculty New Building. The event was coordinated by Senior Lecturer Mr. Arjun de Silva and was part of the Accounting module aimed at providing students with practical insights into finance.

On 8th June 2023, the University of Kelaniya’s University Business Linkage Cell (UBLC) hosted a significant event in the Senate Room, showcasing the outcomes of AHEAD Result Area 3, a project funded through a World Bank grant. The event, coordinated by UBLC Manager Ms. Chamodhi Prabodhya, brought together ministry officials, industry evaluators, and university representatives, underscoring the University’s commitment to fostering industry-linked research and innovation.

The session was graced by esteemed guests, including Mr. Presanna S. Ekanayake, Attorney-at-Law at E.W. Associates, and Mr. Sanjeewa Gunawardena, Executive Director of E.B. Creasy & Co. On 24th May 2023, the Department of Political Science at the University of Kelaniya organized a seminar aimed at Advanced Level students. Held at the Social Sciences Faculty Auditorium, the event began at 9:00 a.m. and was coordinated by Lecturer (Probationary) H.D. Hasitha Jeewanthi.
